Leadership

The ministry of the Fellowship is headed up by the pastor - Terence Gregory and the elder Matthew Gregory. These are responsible for the bulk of the Bible teaching and direction that the church moves in. Having said that there is a healthy ability and calling upon many in the Fellowship in the ministry of the Word of God.

As a result of our stated aim of 100% participation in Emmanuel by 2007, a number of teams have been formed to which every member is encouraged to join at least one. These teams involve themselves in every aspect of Fellowship life from the welcomers at the door to the cup of tea before you leave. The number of these teams grows as we see the opportunity of new ministries and needs arising.

Terence Gregory

Hi I’m Terence and I have had the privilege of being the pastor at Emmanuel for the last sixteen years.
For a number of years I had felt the call of God upon my life and so, in 1982, I left the colliery and studied in the South Wales Bible College under Mr John Waite. Before taking up my present position I spent five years serving a small Mission to a housing estate on the outskirts of Merthyr.

Since becoming a Pastor I have had the privilege to minister in Italy and Corfu with Master Sun, in Germany and a number of Christian hotels in this country.

It has also been my privilege to teach in the local Bible school (ACTS) for 10 years on the subjects of ‘The Person of Christ’ - The Doctrine of Salvation’ - and also ‘The Gospel of John’. At the moment I am teaching on ‘The Person and Ministry of the Holy Spirit’ in The Gateway Bible School attached to Gabalfa Baptist Church in Cardiff.

My delight is to preach through a book in a consecutive and expository style which I find beneficial to myself and very satisfying to those who listen. Having completed Ephesians and Galatians we are now beginning to look at the Epistle to the Hebrews.

I am supported by my wife Pauline who herself is a Scheme Manager of a Sheltered Housing Complex, I have two sons and four beautiful grandchildren and, even though I say so myself, I’m a mean drummer.

Matthew Gregory

I’m Matthew Gregory. I’ve been a member of Emmanuel Christian Fellowship for 16 years and have served as an elder for 10 years.

I studied for three years at Mattersey Hall Bible College and left there in 1996 armed with a degree in Biblical Theology and a desire to learn more and share more of the Word of God.

I am married to Janine and we have two wonderful boys; Luke and Caleb.

I currently organise the Sunday evening services which aims to present the Gospel as simply as possible and in a wide variety of ways, as well as regularly preaching and teaching in many of the other services at Emmanuel.

I am a keen fisherman and when not speaking in Emmanuel or playing the guitar in the worship group, I can most likely be found casting a line on a beach somewhere.
