The swinging sixties saw the birth of Emmanuel Christian Fellowship. As a result of a Gospel Mission in Treorchy a number of people came to know the Lord Jesus Christ as their own personal Saviour.

A place was needed for them to grow and mature as Christians and a person was needed to lead this small but enthusiastic new flock.

Pastor Tom Lloyd became the founding pastor and led the church through a number of various transformations and did so until 1991 when he stepped sideways to devote his time to a mission in Kenya.

During this time the young church continued to grow both spiritually and numerically but a place could never be found to call their own. Rented halls and front rooms saw the Fellowship experience great times of blessing and refreshing, with the moving of the Holy Spirit, the preaching of the Word of God and the reaching out to the unbeliever being the foundation upon which this Fellowship has been built.

In 1986 a recently closed Baptist church was finally purchased with the Lord miraculously providing the exact purchase price, plus the solicitors fees. With a prophetic word that encouraged the congregation that the Lord would provide everything ‘down to the last nail’ the building was reclaimed and has been the home of Emmanuel Christian Fellowship ever since.

In 1991 the present pastor, Terence Gregory, was called and, with an emphasis on consecutive Bible teaching, has seen the Fellowship mature and grow into a vibrant Christian community.

You will find Emmanuel Christian Fellowship nestled in the heart of the Rhondda Valley. Our congregation is made up of all age groups with people from all walks of life who enjoy a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Our worship can be described as contemporary and yet retains a healthy regard for the obviously anointed hymns of the past.

The study and exposition of the Word of God is the catalyst for the ongoing transformation of individuals’ lives and of the church body as a whole. We are to apply the Word of God to every aspect of our lives, both private and public, individual and community, so that we live out and demonstrate the truth of the Gospel.

We have just gone through a process of renovation and the end result is an up to the minute facility enabling us to meet the needs of a modern society.
