Sunday

Sunday, I suppose, is the day of the Christian week in Emmanuel. It is the day when most, if not all, of the people are able to come and worship. At a time when it is fashionable to just have one meeting on a Sunday we still enjoy:

 A morning meeting (10:30am) which is specifically for those Christians intent on deepening their relationship with the Lord and also widening their understanding of His Word. ‘It’s all about You Jesus’, as a line from a modern chorus suggests, sums up the character of this meeting with ‘the opportunity to worship’ - ‘prayers of thanksgiving and adoration’ - ‘remembering the sacrifice of Christ as we come around the Lord’s Table’ - and of course the exposition of God’s precious Word. At the moment we are working our way through John’ Gospel.

 And an evening meeting (6pm) which is designed to present the Gospel to the whole family in an as interactive a way as possible - with power-point presentations, dramas, quizzes, poems and whatever else springs to the creative minds of those taking part. The Gospel Message is always the focal point of all these proceedings as we, along with Paul: “..are not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to the salvation of everyone who believes…” Opportunity is given for anyone to respond to the message given and there is always a ministry team available at the end of this service.

There is an invitation for all to join us over a cup of coffee/tea and talk over the events of the week. This meeting is ideal for you if you are looking into the Christian faith and trying to discover God for yourselves.

Tuesday

Every other Tuesday (7:30pm) we have our prayer group. This is a small group of people dedicated to praying for the ministries and concerns of the church.

It is led by Sylvia whose vision is to see a number of these type of groups grow up within the church so that every week there will be at least one group meeting together for such prayer.

These are powerful meetings and there have been quite a number of real significant answers to our prayers.

Wednesday afternoons 2:30 - 4:00

We open the church to the EVERGREENS. This is a meeting designed especially for the older people of our town and beyond. This is now in its eleventh year and is proving to be a very successful and growing meeting.

It is an opportunity to reach out into the community with friendship and also the Gospel. It is more informal than other meetings and the songs are chosen favorites of those who attend.

Each week a guest speaker will give a short but relevant message from God’s Word.

We finish with a cup of tea.

Thursday evening 7:00

In-depth consecutive Bible Study is considered very important to us and so we meet each Thursday.

During the past 2 years we have been going through the Epistle of Hebrews gleaning some amazing truths about God, His plan and our part in that plan.

We break periodically and tackle other, perhaps less demanding subjects. At the moment we are going through the life of Elisha which is proving to be a very challenging journey for us all.

Each message is recorded and is available upon request.

This service is a must for those Christians who desire to grow in the love and knowledge of the Lord.
